Claiming significant new evidence, including audio proof that more than one gun was fired, attorneys for the man convicted of the 1968 assassination of presidential candidate sen.Robert f.Kennedy is seeking his release from prison.A federal court brief claims that sirhan sirhan was not the person who fired the fatal shots.

At the time of his arrest and for years later, sirhan claimed to have no memory of the shooting incident.His attorneys claim in their brief that his lack of memory is due to the fact that he was"Hypno programmed"To fire the shots to be a diversion for the real assassin.

Also, the attorneys said there is evidence that kennedy was hit by three bullets fired from behind at point blank range at a steep upward angle.Witnesses said sirhan was standing several feet away from kennedy and firing horizontally.

The court filings ask the appeals court to release sirhan from prison or grant him a new trial.Sirhan was denied parole again earlier this year.
